Love this place!! The waitstaff, especially Angela, make this experience phenomenal. The food is of the highest quality you can get. They know how to prepare it to enhance all the flavors as well. Ambiance is nice and serene. Highly recommend if this is on your go to list!!
As expected at this price point, every course was well thought out and unique and decadent We got the 8 course ($165/pp) and tbh it was a little too much food but everything was so good anyway! Zensai course was 3 bite app with scallop with caviar, korrokke & wagyu taco. The korrokke was creamy and bursting with flavor - loved it! My fav was the taco, it was both decadent and didn't feel heavy but it was delicious! I loved the spinalis course especially the winter melon puree - it was such an unexpected flavor combo and just a little tang. The ribeye course was aka meat butter haha and ofc it was good but I need to take a walk after that Sashimi was madai, hamachi and kampachi and they were so fresh and came from the toyosu fish market but the in house ponzu paired so well! The chocolates they gave at the end melted in your mouth and were a great contrast to the raspberry sorbet The wagyu slider was so good, we almost got a few orders to have for the next day but didn't think we'd be able to get up after the food coma took us out Everything was executed well & staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Vibe is upscale so you're not having a convo with your server about anything extraneous. Actually, it was pretty quiet in general in there with mood lighting so just a quiet night out Big plus though is it's attached to a parking deck with free parking for the retail shops in the area. They also have valet though We got the yuzu margarita which was very refreshing and gingery & my husband got an old fashioned and seemed to enjoy it + an echigo beer which tastes like a light, easy drinking beer Total bill was about $500 with the auto grat
ultimate dining experience with an unique and delicious dining experience. we ordered the six course chefs choice with the saki accompaniment. we also enjoyed the tempura shrimp and raw oysters. the service was first class with descriptions of each dish along with the saki pairing. the restaurant itself is beautifully lit and the table setting is stunning.
How does Prefecture not have a Michelin star or a recommendation? It was my favorite sushi and omakase experience of the year! It is perfection! I headed to south Buckhead to see if Prefecture was as good as I've heard. It's better. They are known for their Japanese omakase that heavily features A5 wagyu steak, and they've added a small plate and tapas menu that is just as amazing with everything from sushi rolls to ceviche to chicken wings! Plus, their Japanese inspired cocktail menu really shines when paired with their food. Here's the standouts of my dinner for Tapas and Small plates. The Sake Avocado Maki is "oh my word!!" So soft and melt in your mouth fish, creamy avocado, earthy umami aioli, a crispy garlic on top, surrounded by a spicy chili ponzu. One of the best rolls ever! Plus, the King salmon ceviche is super fresh salmon, a fantastic citrusy sauce with a hint of heat from the jalapeño and a hit of sweet orange and a good crunch on the top. Washed this down with a delicious Shogun cocktail. It is Bright champagne, sweet vermouth, floral gin, and a mint cordial My standouts from the 7-course Omakase. Of the Zensai apps the croquette was my favorite with wagyu beef, Japanese black futsu pumpkin, creamy, sweet, in a super crunchy croquette. Plus, of the wagyu/steak offerings my fave was the Zabuton. It's a delicate wagyu steak cut from the chuck center is so super tender and melts in your mouth. Delicate yet bold meat, buttery flavor, sweet and tangy apple ponzu and fried shallots for a little bit of crunch! The assorted sashimi was also a stunner. Hamachi, Amber Jack, and then red snapper. This beautiful dish is so fresh and served with a variety of ponzus. Favorite is the smokier and heartier red snapper! AND save room for the last meat course, the Wagyu slider! Delectable! It is perfectly cooked Wagyu beef topped with gruyere cheese, rich quail egg, toasted bun and a truffle aioli! Served with "chips and dip," crunchy chips and more truffle aioli! And the service is just top notch, white glove and you feel like a queen or king.
Incredible cocktails, food, and experience. We did the wagyu omakase and each bite was more delicious than the last. We both really enjoyed the truffle slider! The service was top-notch, and they offered us a great treat to celebrate at the end. Truly a unique experience for those who want to try a great and innovative tasting menu.
WOW WOW WOW! I did the Omakase and from the beginning to the end it was exceptional. The staff were warm and welcoming and the vibes were giving luxurious. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the city.
Really wanted to try the omoakase experience, but because I don't eat beef it didn't make sense. However the tapas were such a delight, I would still recommend this place highly. The ambiance and service matched the five star cuisine I experienced. Loved the lobster rice and kani avocado maki roll. The hamachi was so fresh and melted in your mouth. I can't wait to try the sister property, Nori Sushi, and will definitely return here.
When I went in mid-2024 the tasting menu consisted of: San kuchi zensai (3 bite appetizer), A5 Ribeye Cap, Sashimi Moriawase, A5 NY Striploin, Crab rice, and sorbet. (I also ordered the truffle wagyu slider, I mean come on I had to try them) The omakase menu started off great with the small bites to start the appetite going, then hit hard with the A5 Ribeye Cap (literally just melts in the mouth), gives you a little breather with the sashimi... and then hits hard again with the A5 NY Striploin (my favorite). Finally the meal ended with a nice crab rice (great texture, sweet, love carbs), and a nice sorbet to cleanse the pallet. The food was perfect for someone that wants to try an omakase menu that highlights Japanese steak. The ambiance was dark and moody, perfect for a nice date night.
Ok so the sushi here is AMAZING but the drinks are what makes you come back. If you're a little overwhelmed by the menu like I was, just ask the server for recommendations and you'll be glad you did! But honestly, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The ambiance is low key and very dim so it made me feel fancy schmancy Overall, great place for an intimate setting or a posh get together!
This was our first time at Prefecture and tried their 8 course omakase. The omakase menu features a lot of wagyu so I would recommend trying their a la carte menu if you think it could be too rich. Overall we felt like $185 for this menu was very worth it; we ended up adding truffle to one of our courses (+$20 to base price). After eating we didn't feel like the meal was overly heavy or rich. We definitely plan to return to try their a la carte menu now that we've tried their omakase menu. Our server was very friendly, the restaurant has great ambience and was perfect for date night. My favorite dishes are the A5 NY strip and wagyu slider. The A5 NY strip comes with 3 different types of pickles and they were delicious. Nicely pickled and paired well with the wagyu. Overall menu was delicious and we highly recommend giving them a try!
